Where to Get a Car Loan With Bad Credit

It's pretty standard to get a car loan when purchasing a vehicle. There aren't very many people who can pay in cash. But where should you get your car loan? You could apply with your bank, apply online, or get a bank from your car dealership, for example, the Sullivan Auto Group.

Your Bank
Your bank knows you well. Presumably, they should show a preference for customers that have banked with them faithfully. Unfortunately, modern lending procedures don't really help you there. Even if you pick a local bank, they're still going to run your application through the computer. If the computer says no, your lending relationship with the bank doesn't help you. Banks can be picky about whom they loan money to, and they are.

Online
There are many different financial institutions that let you apply for a loan on line. While you can shop around that way and submit your application more than once, there's no guarantee that you'll get approved. Plus, there's the chance that you give your information to the wrong people. Of course, you can shop around the banks in your area without going online as well.

Car Dealership
If your credit is less than great, you might be better off applying for a car loan at a car dealership like the; Sullivan Auto Group. Car dealers are used to selling cars. While they would prefer that you pay your loan as agreed, they can resell the car if you don't. Your bank doesn't have that luxury, and they stand to lose more money because they have to figure out how to get rid of the car. Car dealerships can also work with you by adjusting the price, interest rate, or terms of the loan. Plus, they have a vested interest in getting you qualified since they want to sell you a car.
